Know Eeyore? Remember that old grey stuffed donkey who is a friend of the title character, Winnie-the-Pooh.
Last year, I made up the concocted the Eeyore Syndrome and labeled my Sweet, Sweet Daughter with it. SSD (Sweet, Sweet Daughter) was gloomy, hard on herself, perfectionistic, easily embarrassed by her short-comings, isolated herself when she was embarrassed… NOT the way a precious 5 year old girl should behave. We tried to help her in several different ways. Nothing seemed to make a difference. Then, one day, I was very skeptically reading through this book and I stopped in my tracks when I got to the page on Cassia essential oil. It described SSD to-a-T.
So, I made up a diluted roller bottle of Cassia. You can read how I do that here and I told SSD, “This is the oil that your body needs.” That’s all I told her. And we rolled the oil onto her wrists. I had her take several deep breaths of it. And… a transformation occurred that day. Eeyore started to disappear. Just melted away before our eyes. It was a glorious thing. I continued applying the roller bottle morning and night (when I remembered). Each day, SSD’s behavior improved more and more. As a mom, this was just the most amazing thing to watch.
Then, one morning, I was reading in the Psalms, and I stumbled across this verse. Well, actually… I don’t believe that I stumbled across this verse. I believe that the Holy Spirit led me to it.
…Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions; your robes are all fragrant with Myrrh and Aloes and Cassia…
We continued with this protocol very consistently for about 3 months. Today, we rarely ever use Cassia on SSD. She just doesn’t need it often. And Eeyore is still gone!
If your child… or you… struggle from my fictitious Eeyore Syndrome, give Cassia a try!
